... So far I haven't found a single reason for the ghost to even be in this manga (chapter 71). I assume that'll happen at some point!

The romance is very cute though. He's basically her toy :ROFLMAO: .

this is nice, very chill but i wish the ghost played a bigger role instead of just random commentary on what's happening, makes the title feel a bit pointless

It's chapter 158 and there's still not a single reason xD

The ghost is completely pointless ._.

I absolutely agree, but it took, what, 30 chapters for this to even turn into a romcom? I am holding out for a last minute 'aha!' ... because why otherwise why even would you have this completely pointless ghost around for 200 chapters.

Because cute ghost commentary even though he says little and it adds nothing to the story :D?

Seriously, the dude turning into a fucking ghost is the first scene we see! He talked about watching over our dear salaryman but he ain't doin' jack! Why did he ALMOST IMMEDIATELY become pointless?? Even Krillin's presence in big fights has more purpose!

I like the ghost. If ghosts are real, then they are just like that, ethereal beings commenting on our life without being heard by anyone but the reader (whoever this reader might be). That is, unless someone here have proof that they can talk to invisible people (in which case, please go see a doctor, the medical kind), I will assume that if ghosts exist, they cannot interfere with our lives.

I mean, not prevents the author of suddenly making the ghost to alter reality, but so far it seems the ghost will be only there experiencing the dread of not existing anymore and seeing the story develop regardless of himself. How you "read" this matters only to yourself. So far, I am reading this as:
  1. Spirits can only watch over you and wish you luck, but they can't act to help you. So it's okay to find solace in believing they are there with you, but only you can make a difference in your life and grow.
  2. Whatever you have to do, do as soon as you can. Don't take life for granted as if it had no end.
  3. Try not reading too much in one-page mangas so you don't end up "travelling through the mayonnaise" on some forum over the Internet.
