Baseless only to you. There were not even raws out about this part back then (so we didn't even know what author's intention was with this arc), but everyone's gut instincts told them this guy is full of crap. Except for you, who started defending him. :-D

Where is your god now? Once a trash, always a trash, one won't change "overnight". Opinions based on personal experiences are not baseless suspicions. Where do you think the collective moral codex you oh-so-willingly try to put in use when talking trash about Lila comes from? It comes from the experiences of many individuals. You can try to pee against this hard wind, maybe one day you will succeed. :-D

Once again, it's not hypocricy when people "forgive" Lila for what she did. It's the origins of the matter, she needed to hang out with the bullies to survive and she needed to occasionally show cruelty to stay among them... Once again, to survive after running away from her family. Too bad you can't seem to understand this.

This dude, however? He knew he wont hang out with those guys for too long, his literal survival did not hang on it (he had family unlike her). He just let Yuri be beaten up because he thought he could use same bullies for something in the future. Which he couldn't, thanks to MC.

On a side note, I don't think KB (korean bakugo) even heard his masterplan. He didn't see guys's face for so long, but I'm sure after what happened with Yuri (and KB got blamed for all of it) he must have wanted to punch his face so damned much, he is just this kind of guy.

Man, comments section is a mess, and I've given on participating because this shit feels way too nuanced to debate over comments and it's to hard to address what everyone's already said.

That said, it's fun to read how different everyone's reactions/opinions are and props to the author if that was the goal.

@KebabRemover What else could he (the author) do to tell his teen audience what he wants to tell them? To show these polar opposite of thinking about friendships? To show how normal it is if you doubt yourself in your ways when someone tells you there is an other way to "get by" in life? To show starting evildoers to never give out their plot or they will get punched in the face? Etc.

Using some kind of outer narration is not really good to show any of these...

Its not though, because Junu is biased towards everyone, and he was especially biased against this guy and yet he let him off just as he let off Lila, who he was biased for on account of dating her. Despite that you speak of the unbalanced and bias treatment of the opposite directly like its something special and pretty much are ranting about it. He forgave both and was willing to reset things in both cases, the difference in treatment is very much warranted outside that.

@kowoyoshi it's still retarded, he has no need to help him, he himself said mc was worthless and there's no benefit on being friends with him. Why go out of his way to "school" him and blow his own cover? he's just making it harder for himself by telling MC his whole plan. Even if he's an arrogant prick, this is just plain stupid and forced as fuck, specially when he had already gotten away with it and MC would've disappeared, never to be seen again if had kept his mouth shut. It's more like the author wanted MC to be right so he made the dude out to be an unrepentant jerk so gamergirl gets her turn at being saved by MC.
