Man, events in manga like this really expose how most of Japan legit don't even consider therapy as an option huh.

Like it does not even cross their minds for a second. I can count in 1 hand the times I have seen professional medical mental help even mentioned in manga/anime as an option.

Why would someone need therapy for generic teenage angst and stress about exams? Get therapy for serious stuff, not ordinary parts of adolescence and growing up stuff.

I am a big proponent of Japan needing more therapy, but I also agree that this issue may not necessarily need a licensed therapist. I think it's a combination of Aya needing to be more open and confessing her struggles, and her loved ones talking to her about her struggles. Like her mom has noticed that she's failed her daughter already. She needs to have at least attempted to talk to her about exams and shit.
