I feel like they're going to give them a redemption arc, hell they probably won't even do that, they'll just have them be all forgiven at some point despite nothing happening to redeem them except "they felt bad" and not even Canis, just Arin.
Ugh, stick to a narrative. First it's "risking your life is common" with kids jumping of cliffs, expecting to die, now it's "oh no a kid is dead, the school will close" and he's just a commoner, so who is going to enforce that??

i think the idea is that risking your life to do school work in an approved and nearly 100% controlled setting was deemed as acceptable. however this was an situation where 4 intruders came in and nearly killed an entire school. the difference is that the students didn't sign up for this, but were forced to do it, making it unethical.
as for the enforcement, its more going to be the fact that anyone died in this situation. it could have been some rank 1 nobles kid instead that died, thus a lot of those parents would be more than willing to pull their kids from the school, if not try to shut it down.
