No this is if what I'm understanding is right, the same shadow that was going to ark in Dark beginnings he just fell hard to his memories once he entered the white space

Space shattering apart did make me think this was an illusion from black doom. However, the presence of the gears inside the crack tells me this was time eater shenanigans instead. Which makes me think that there are two shadows running around. One from the present and one from 50 years ago. We won't know for sure until the game comes out ofc. But I think it'd be weird for dark beginnings to lead into this when the ending implied that space colony ark would be the opening stage for shadow generations.

I think this will be a non-canon standalone (kinda goofy) story about Shadow meant for kids who don't know anything about Sonic that uses elements from the Shadow Generations game it's meant to promote as a backdrop. It's not the route I expected but I hope it'll be fun at least. I believe the use of "Wishing Orbs" instead of just Chaos Emeralds spells out how much "Sonic" should we expect to be featured here

So just like Sonic, Shadow has had his past self brought to the White Space. I think I recognize that hole from the game, or I might just be thinking about some similar areas in White Space. Point is, considering this Shadow can’t interact with the world or the people inside White Space, it’s possible he’s running through everything we do but apart from us.

And the reason he can’t use the Emeralds is because both Sonic and his future self have them. But “wishing orbs” huh? I wonder what that means, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s related to Erazer Djin since it’s all about wishes. Then again it could be something new, who knows.
