You know what irks me sometimes? That the MCs, and all other characters for that matter, always seem to just blindly follow a technique. No creativity at all. Oh, this technique is this grade!!! Let me just learn it and kick everyone’s asses, instead of, “Let me actually think about this move, how to improve upon it. How to use the concepts behind the technique to formulate my own.” It’s actually refreshing to see Path of the Shaman and Spirit Blade Mountain actively exploring this sadly underused device
