I don't even know how it's possible, but they somehow skipped all the best parts of Serena's introduction here from the webnovel.

Also they somehow skipped an incredibly important part where
Frey needs to order her through the absolute obedience magic to always "doubt" his intentions, so it becomes impossible for Serena to trigger his system penalty. Like that's the entire damn point of the plan, and they somehow just didn't include it. I'm absolutely baffled.

Is the dude really planning to trust in the immunity? I don't believe it's worth shit now that the marriage was cancelled. While the empress was stupid to not adjust the contract to secure her own interests, in case on cancellation, it's unthinkable the empire would let it stand, should it go against their interests. If he never does anything worth the emperor/empress's attention, then naturally they might not bother.

Not to mention
The fact that she set it up so she looses her memory during the day and gains it back at night. That's a very important plot point so that
the evil god who's taken over and imprisoned the sun god can't watch her through the sunlight

Okay this is all well and good, but what id like to know is how this penalty system works? Like she already realized that he was just pretending to be bad this time around. He should already have the pentaly for her realizing his intentions. What is the criteria for the penalty if her knowing his intentions dont trigger it???

It's weird and subjective. Basically the system can read minds to a certain extent and then applies the penalty if the viewer thinks Frey's evil acts aren't actually evil.

Serena could to a certain extent, make herself believe that Frey is doing things that seem good, but might actually just be coverup for more evil deeds.

Like Frey rescued Irina from getting harassed by the nobles in her introduction, but that was just so he could personally harass her. Nobody thought Frey was doing a good deed of saving Irina from her situation, even though that's technically what happened.

Honestly, it just works somehow.

What is with the random part of the tower master getting a disciple?

It's out of place.
The conversation is awkward (even more than normal character lines in this webtoon).
It has no connection to the rest of the story.

The demon king regain her memory too?!
No, the demon queen did not recover her memory. Only the 5 heroines. The demon queen doesn't even know what happened in the previous timeline. The exception is that in this timeline, like Frey, she also has a system but unlike him, the demon queen must do the opposite.

I think it's enjoyable, but there are a number of people that don't like how much over the top suffering is going on, which might be why this adaptation is so much more lighthearted. Just give like the first 16 chapters a shot or something to see if you enjoy the tone.

The novel translations are in like the 400s, the adaptation's 26 chapters just covered around like ~38 chapters of the novel so far.

I think the system couldn't predict that a love interest with full memories and knowing the reason of the last loop wouldn't confront him, so the trigger to the penalty was avoided.
