If he’d betrayed them, then used his knowledge to play it straight and fix things while they tried to kill him at every turn, that would have been better than this fake villain shit.

Also if I were one of these chicks, the first thing I’m doing is grouping up with the others to kill this mfer. Or at least verify if they were aware too.

- the MC has to spend vitality/lifeforce on Kania because the dark mana she was born with is eating her own lifeforce

- if one of the heroines finds out that the MC is just pretending to be a villain and that he's actually a good guy, he takes a vitality penalty

- if all heroines were to find out, the penalties would equate 100% of his lifeforce, which would kill him on the spot

So... why doesn't the MC just come clean to Kania, eat the lifeforce penalty, and make her his accomplice? Sure, it would take some effort to convince her - but that still beats having to spend tons of extra lifeforce on her just because she keeps trying to murder or sabotage the MC.

Kania is already his butler anyway, so it wouldn't even stand out if she'd become his accomplice and be seen doing chores for him.

Because he doesn't know about the penalty, he thinks he gets a redo and everything has to go perfectly. You know of the vitality penalty thing from the comments, it still isn't introduced in the comic.

The million dollar question is the identity of the one running this game. Obviously someone designed that exceedingly specific scenario with its rules. Who is it? Is it some other world streaming service that's treating this fantasy world like a reality show? Or is this all just a simulation in the Matrix? There's nothing natural about any of this, even though the MC doesn't seem to question anything.
