I woulda asked this old spy what his endgame was, the first time he spoke of switching sides my way. If his endgame is to depose the king and replace him with himself, well, we've got problems. As the MCs father, I'm all for an idiot ruler that can be manipulated. I'm absolutely not gonna have him replaced with an intelligent, conniving, backstabber. That's just bad politics. Now, even if he wants to replace him with a competent ruler that's not himself, I'd still have a meeting with Mr. Replacement. If I strike fear in him, then he can go and build that country all he wants. If I don't, by the time I'm done with the meeting, I'll make sure I have
