I am a bit annoyed by mangaka portraying it as the friend stabbing leon to death. Obviously wouldn't actually happen, with their bonds. Going to be a 'reveal' that he actually stabbed himself to force leon into rushing a conclusion, lethally stabbed himself to make it ok to friendly fire on him, or lightly stabbed leon in a safe manner to ensure he sits down and can't stop the bait from going out, or rush to retrieve him (forced to fire his friendly fire shot as only way to possibly save him).

remember fellas, the saddest thing about enemies is the fact that betrayal will never come from them...

Sure it can. They can suddenly betray you by saving the life of you and your loved ones. Or by shoveling your driveway and paint your house, in the dead of winter.

And here is where the story start to go to shit.

Noel basically turn into a Mary Sue after this, everything he said become true, everything he did will be justified later by the author pulling shit out of his ass. As there is literally no way Noel can 6D chess the shit came out of his mouth.

edit: Also, Leon is the best character in this story, as he is the only human character after this. The other may as well be archetype with MC be author insert and have omniscient.

Leon truly follows his Class Role to perfection, protect everyone for any cost, even if that includes betraying their trust. it's sad to see this party become a stepping stone for Noel, but chances are high this situation would have escalated sooner or later anyways.

I'm rather interested in how the Talker will deal with the Mind Reader.

Yup. This is the best way to summarize what happened in a way that makes sense from realistic motivations.

Everyone has dedicated themselves to their team and being Leons support, including giving their lives for him and the team like Kaim wanted to.

Noel plants the doubt that Leon doesn't need them and would succeed even without their dedication.

Noel instigated a scenario where they would have to show their dedication. And Leon, thinking they'd choose living over all the hard labor and time they spent together, instead says that everything they've worked and sacrificed for can be thrown away in pursuit of the win.

Okay, I can understand feeling betrayed and thinking he's going to leave you behind as he continues to ascend to greater heights. But why stab him? Crab mentality?

Sort of, Kaim wants their party to do this without Noel's even if they fail or die, so he's crippling Leon to prevent him for asking for help.

I don't agree with ash.As someone who read the 3 Volumes available in english I can tell you that yeah things go according to noel's plans but there is scheming and planning involved that makes everything natural especially if you consider that Noel has to pay a grave price for his actions and also because Noel only selects Elite to join his Clan so to speak his achievements are justified.
