this was the point I stopped reading the LN.... any minor spoilers ahead?
On this arc or in general ?

don't remember all the reasons but
There's a dungeon that has been taken over by miasma, and some of the humanized blade got possessed
Don't remember if the sister got poisoned on purpose but I think it was,
Shin will also have his first encounter with a guardian which have shin as their main target since he didn't come into this world like the others, their like inter dimensional gatekeeper as theorized in the story thus far (in the manga) (we got proper reveal in the last volume translated of the ln )
don't remember anything about the war going on between the clans though
Also shin is gonna flex his weapon collection soon™

tanks for the food

Sure !
( some overlap with chendu´s spoilers. )

Sister is still OK.
The party ( and the ninjas ) are going to be back soon and cause a huge mess.
Shin is going to do some massive flexes when they do.

Some bigger spoilers.
A Sexy Kistune is doing some trolling.
The living sword lady is going to join them later on.
demons and shit is to blame for 70 % of the plots going forward one way or another for the next 4 or so arcs.

All things considered, pure swordsmanship shouldn't be Shin's forte. He's an adventurer, after all, being a player of an open world fantasy RPG. Though he certainly does greatly emphasize sword fighting in combat. But if he had fought now like the needed to fight against the ultimate last boss of the death game, how many seconds would Munechika have lasted?

IIRC Munechika was a end game event RAID BOSS and wiped the floor with everyone, Shin included.
Shin is stronger then her, but Munechika is probably kinda close to Origin as Origin was a 1 man boss.
Her stats are close to what Shin had before he got 2x stats from fighting Origin.

We do not know Origin stats.
Munechika has all around 900 , other then int which is 200 or so.
While Shin has around 2000 after 2x stats in all stats.

Level 255 is the max for players, but when you hit it, you could reset your lvl for a stats boost.

The reincarnation system that allowed people to reset their stats is going haywire.
This is also why "Chosen ones" who are born with skills, tittles or alot of stats exist.

Even if he was mainly known for being the best blacksmith in the game.
Shin is still pretty good at fighting hand to hand as a max level Samurai.

Shin is able to fight her on even ground thanks to his buff from the final boss giving him 2x stats.
And the fact they are not using any crazy magic moves.
But in pure skill, Munechika is probably one of the best in the world.

I always thought Origin wasn't supposed to be a one man boss, but Shin just ended up fighting it alone, and happened to win due to being an asskicker and able to make the best equipment possible for himself. There also wouldn't be a story if he didn't win...

Well it was not really mentioned in the manga.
( and the manga even mentioned "all player's health is restored " in the official C1 translation when Origin is defeated.
But it does not impact the story as a whole that much, as you said... the story only starts once he won after all.

IIRC the light novel mentioned that Origin was a solo boss which while not uncommon, was unexpected for a final boss.
This was also a reason why it took so long because nobody other than Shin was even remotely close to his power.
Shin is very much a madlad for having 1000 in all stats, as most likely took multiple-level resets.

A reminder, it is mentioned that Origin is a solo type boss in manga chapter 50 page 18.
