Hello everyone,
As part of my master's thesis, I'm conducting a survey on something I've been observing in our community for a few years: the rise of anime and otaku culture into the mainstream, and its effects on community creativity.
My hypothesis is that this mainstream appropriation tends to standardize aesthetics, smooth out the rough edges that made the culture distinctive, and gradually erode the identity of the subcultures it originates from.
If you'd like to contribute to this research, I'd be grateful if you could take a few minutes to fill out this anonymous survey :

I'll be reading all responses carefully. Thank you for your time!
