Art is amazing, characters are funny and 3-dimensional, story isn't totally a copy-paste, character interactions are a bit more realistic and charming than you'd expect in this genre, but the conflict is done so badly. The player levels are almost completely irrelevant, crises aren't actually life-threatening, there is just no tension in any fight, etc...
If the creators spent a bit more time to flesh out the logic behind the power-system this story might be an 7 instead of a 6. The real nail in the coffin, though, is the illogical and uncompelling fights. Fights should be thrilling with life and death decided in moments, have lasting impacts on characters, give rise to emotions in characters, be strategic sometimes and uncontrollable others, have a follow-able flow to them, but the fights here are none of those and just wholly sauceless.
If the authors had ever read or watched something with at least great/good action (Pick Me Up, Academy's Undercover Professor, Frieren (the anime I haven't read the manga), ..) they might know what I mean. A great (recent) example is ep 7 of the Release That Witch donghua (at 10:00). So much matters in a fight; the positions of opponents, their current actions, their emotions, their weapons, the environment, small timings, how each of these things interact and flow together to make something cohesive and thrilling. It seemed the creators had none of these in mind when "choreographing" the fights.
Poorly-done action is fine (in my book) if your story is not about physical conflict, e.g. The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity. But this isn't a romance !!! It's action dammit !!! 6/10
