Time to get into Kylo's good graces by treating his so called "parents" like shit.

Both were cheated on, and both seem to hold considerable contempt for their bastard children - given that the marchioness's final straw was the child being adopted, she obviously doesn't think kindly of him.

While the women shouldn't take their anger out at the innocent children, the fathers are ultimately at fault here, and are the real villains in these scenarios.

The central problem with what happened isn't sympathizing with one over the other re: being cheated on. The problem is that Kylo's stepmother intentionally aired the Marchioness's personal struggles with her husband cheating at a party in front of a large group of guests in a bid to gain sympathy and support over their shared circumstances.

We also don't know right now if the Marchioness has mistreated her stepson since he's still in the capital within a division of the royal knights. All the context we have atm is that she kept the initial conflict between her and her husband and didn't rise to the bait and complain about him when Kylo's stepmom griped about illegitimate children.

Knowing Kylo's side of the story from a previous chapter is salt in the wound hearing his stepmother lie about his treatment in the house while trying to undermine him politically, but right now it's down to a comparsion of how both women handled similar situations in the public eye.

The husbands are definitely at fault, but currently only one of the stepmoms present is actually publicly attacking and delegitimazing their stepson while also airing private matters of another person lol.
