The demons forced their evolution by consuming human flash, it's like we're taking drugs in some cases where "nature would do it's way" but compared to them, we don't kill other sentient, actually caring (not instinctively) creatures for that.

As seen with Musica tribe, they are on the right path but that takes time and forcing their evolution isn't good.
