We need more platonic male friends, tho it would be amusing if it's like "you guys know i'm gay right? i haven't hidden it" (tho i guess in a japanese high school/teen age a lot of ppl would)

But it'd be great to have some kinda live action, if there's some up and coming child actors if not ppl in their 20s that can stil lbe high schoolers

While that may be a part of it, you also have to consider the volume releases of this series. They started releasing volumes of this in 2023 (as stated in the credits page), and the final volume came out recently. Announcing an anime for this series would incentivize people to get the manga and read it before the anime comes out.

im thinking it cant be a girlfriend since 1) he's obviously ((imo)) into miki && 2) minato thought they were going out way back when he first stumbled upon their study group - which implies he's single, to minato's knowledge && most likely true because they're close
