There is no good reason for him not to just kill his brother and the prince. Prolonging it knowing what they are up to is just going to make it more difficult to take action later as they have to keep modifying plans and MC won't be able to predict future events based on his existing knowledge.

I think he just wants the satisfaction of completely ruining the brother's plans and life, just as the brother had done to him previously (despite all work MC did for the brother).
So it's still not a good reason, as people have and will continue to die, but MC himself admits he's not a good person.

Eh, no no, there's indeed a reason. That reason being plot progression.

But yeah, kinda weird how he didn't kill them. My guess would be the fact that he's trying to keep the changes as low as possible so he could take advantage on his knowledge of the future.

Still, if the mastermind dies, there should be no plot to be aware of, unless.... The MC doesn't think those two are the only mastermind, that's why he's being wary(?)

I would say as a member of a shadow society that both gathers intel and does assassinations, they could easily get what they need to prove their involvement. He could even pass off the intel gathering to a different member citing the potential for a conflict of interest since his brother is a target. He could offer the gifts that were received that attracted the demons as preliminary evidence to that fact to get the ball rolling.

But yeah, it is just a stupid plot progression tool that really hasn't done anything to ruin his brother's life so far beyond mild inconvenience.

If there wasn't any plot armor Sian brother and the prince be killed by now there would be no reason to keep both of them alive.

If MC kill the prince and his brother. New antagonist is going to replace those 2 anyway. Which MC might have less information.
