i hope he's okay and this is just a way to get him to either see cyan fight or maybe improve his health due to healing/saving him. to do him in so anticlamatically would be disappointing, dudes like their Might Guy but with magic, he brings a light but ferocious aim to the scenes he's in. seeming like if it is related to the book then its something akin to a trial to find its new wielder more than just heavy defenses.
the karon/charon guy... i cant tell if he's gonna be an outright villain or is just one of the 'overly obsessed and protective attendant" tropes .
