There's some promise here. The teacher might have been a little too dismissive of the kid's effort in his situation, but he wasn't entirely wrong about the kid just kind of going along with what his dad wanted either. Hopefully he quickly learns some lessons about being less of a shit while out on his own.
The teacher's bias was completely showing here. Sure the kid is an entitled asshole but to ignore his efforts and attribute it all to his wealth is in bad taste.
Yup the teacher was wrong in half of what he said, so what if he had rich parents, they both had the same motivation to become kings, training in expensive facilities or under a bridge with rocks is still training, in fact, as shown with his use of fire magic and swordsmanship he probably can take anyone from that class except for Figo for now (or maybe not, considering the fact that beating him could means expulsion) , saying that effort isn't his is BS, is like saying Figo's effort is all thanks to his parents too who had the tools, teachings and facilities to make what he needed.
Anyway, that aside, the fact that the protagonist is Tarte should make for a fine story with nice character development.
I also want to put in my hat into this. It was also mention that if anyone questions or harm him in anyway, his dad would literally take everything they had and ran them out of town. So you can imagine that his instructors would tread carefully to not hurt the boy’s ego. That said there could had been some genuine attempt to train him, but again, base on the reaction from the butler during the carriage ride, he was more fearful of saying the wrong words to annoy the kid.Tarte may have worked hard too but he had no drive to improve like Figo did. All he was doing was what he was taught without thinking on his own while Figo learned how to improvise and adapt, which is why he lost the fight.
That’s our bad, we had to shrink down our images because they breached mangadex’s limit on upload size, and accidentally made the double spreads like this. It should be fixed nowDouble spread being so small made a lot of those pages not as impactful to me.
