Dude should already have far more than enough savings for a hermit life in the countryside. With the bounties from international criminals, how could he not have? It's such a tired, beaten to death joke from the Japanese authors that heroes must always stay piss-poor, no matter what they do or achieve. When Alta was fighting the gang member with a toy sword, Alta also noted that the property damage caused by the criminal would be deduced from his wages. Really now? It must suck to be a guard or a cop in Japan if that's how the place works.

You are just annoyed that this trope hits too close to home and that the average post boomer generation will be unlikely to be able to retire properly in today's economy
