Of course not! It would lower the value of the product. Those goons burned down the village (again), so they must be in as good condition as they can be to produce gold when sold. At the end of the day, such brutish men would only be bought to be sent to the mines or to do other tough physical labour, or be used as gladiators. Maybe an individual could be bought by some pervert, but generally speaking a decent physical condition is a must to be worth purchasing. As it is, the average age looked unfortunately high, which is a detail that will hit price expectations hard. I don't think Naofumi & Gang will make a killing selling them, but gold is gold, no matter the amount.
Given the talk about selling them in Silvelt, labor probably isn't what they have in mind for them. They would be going to the country Melomark was at war with for so long as former soldiers who abducted children under the care of their object of worship. It would begin like the noble from the beginning of the story who took out his resentment from the war on Raphtalia and Kiel but then move on to a "public pig carving" as the buyer could use that as a public "display of righteousness" to gather political support.

That's true. Although I can't help but wonder how much anyone would be willing to invest in slaves just to execute them. In fact Naofumi should be careful the officials of that country won't simply snatch them with no compensation paid, as war criminals. What comes to labour, mines used to be a death sentence until fairly recent and modern times. In the 19th century they were still incredibly dangerous. Slaves and prisoners were fodder sent there, to feed the mines' endless hunger for workers to replace dying ones. Gold, silver, and precious stones mines were different things, often, since opportunists could privately found them and were perfectly willing to risk their lives in order to get rich.

Regarding Raphtalia and her desire to see the slavers get sold off as slaves....

Keep in mind, folks, these are the very same people who sold Raphtalia herself off into slavery. Not just "people like these guys", I mean the very same ones. They were the soldiers who were supposed to help people "recover" from the wave, and when the Three Heroes Church got disavowed, they deserted and went privateer.

She recognized each of their faces and knew right away that these ass holes had come back for a second helping of her village's children.

Ain't much room for forgiveness here, folks. Hell, I bet if the Queen was there, she'd do the same thing herself, or even put them to the sword, execution style, right on the spot... that is, after having her secret service get every last bit of information out of them.

Raphtalia seem different than usual. It must be Naofumi influence. I hope she doesn't become a slave dealer.
They just literally decided to become slave dealers 😆

Only hope for this not happening is that something happens that takes the sale off the table entirely. Not betting on that though, unless they're going to be used as gladiator fodder instead.

Something like this

This is not a spoiler as this is an OC from the Chinese Shield Hero game.
Yup, that's how the trope usually goes.
No conventionally attractive men in the family, but the women are all supermodel-class.

Silvelt is one of the nations that worships the Shield Hero. More so, I think this was the one that was more zealous in their worship, to the point that he's kinda afraid to go there. For them, they can get a lot of popularity and authority in their country from supporting/buying from the Shield Hero and from killing enemy soldier slavers. For someone in a political position, it would be worth more than labor. They could use anyone else for labor, this one has value for them in the fact that they are being handed over by their religious figure and they are universally hated in their country. It would be a waste TO send them to a mine.

Alas, I had forgotten such details. In that case I suppose Naofumi just needs to do his best to avoid getting embarrassingly preferential treatment.

People keep saying "ruthless" like it's a bad thing. Too much emotion (note, not empathy) and you end up like HueRishia, ready to do anything--no matter how counterproductive and stupid--just to soothe your feelings.

I also think that Raphtalia (though she is a moderating influence on Naofumi and despite that fact) is also being positively influenced by Naofumi--she's actually adopting positive masculine traits that suppress her negative feminine ones and complement her positive ones. Notice how she isn't going to pieces over the immutable reality of the situation (like HueRishia), instead remaining focused on her and Naofumi's goals--while in (loving) service to him.

Their relationship, once the author lets it happen, will be ideal.

Raphtalia got a LOT softer in anime than in LN or even manga. Maybe you forgot her enslaved friend was tortured to agonized death by a racist cunt?

Pegging them wont cause any damage to the goods though 👹
