Yeah, I'm gonna repeat myself here. You need to reread the beginning, because your take is majorly playing it down, and that's an understatement. He didn't just get betrayed by one woman, but accused of attempted rape by her (getting robbed is just icing on the cake). And he got treated like a villain by everyone he met, despite having done nothing wrong. Guilty by default, where the truth was worth nothing. Not by one person, but by everyone. This happened so soon following him getting pulled unwillingly into a strange new world (which is hard enough), where he has to survive while knowing nothing, and will be expected to fight for people that all hate him. What "traumatized" Naofumi was a single incident with, what, like a few weeks of hardship?
Oh and the people like him now? Yeah, after he's done so much for them, how convenient. While they may love what he's done for them, but where were they when he truly needed them? When he was new to this world, and all alone? At that point, they only shat on him (figuratively), but wouldn't have pissed on him if he was on fire. And if things had gone differently - which they only went well enough through HIS efforts, not theirs - they'd have gladly mocked him as he died a dog's death in front of them. But since they can use him, since he's useful to them, "hurray we love you!" So he should "just get over it"? Fuck that, and fuck them too.
No, I didn't miss your "point". I completely reject it.
