Reread slower last time. The captain assumed she was enlisted but she immediately corrects by saying orphans have no choice but to be drafted

If Tanya know this, the only thing in his head will be "I shot myself!!!"

Augh, if she ever tried Swedish food she'll dehydrate and die instantly. We salt the food so so so much! Everything has salt in it! If the US has sugar and poison and fat and everything that is bad, then we have the Salt.

To add to the folks talking about her being forced in. In the book she got a letter a month after her magic was tested saying she'd be drafted if they went to war. She joined before the war started in order to look better on paper. Considering they didn't even give her the full 2 years of training, I think she made the right call.

Why does everyone rip on Britain when it comes to food? For that matter, does she suggest there is anything wrong with German food? I freakin love German food. But there are quite a few native foods here that suit my tastes nicely too.
I'd rather eat all British food than all French food, personally... to say nothing of what passes for cuisine in Spain... ugh...

I reckon, just thinking of European countries I've been to off the top of my head in terms of food...

German > Italian > British > Polish > French > Spanish.

@soticoto she criticized the cooks not the cuisine. Although I personally don’t get the appeal of brith cuisine I’m sure there are some who do. And as for German cuisine, it’s mostly meat hard to mess up so even I’m surprised someone messed it up

It just occurred to me that Tanya's reading English newspapers not because she's learning English, but – aside from learning about another country – she's probably more comfortable with English since it's most likely her second language in the previous life. Here, German would be her third.

It is honestly hilarious to see both sides what they think , also here in the manga it is shown way better how people see her as a goddess.

Can I say how much I love the scene with Tanya and Ugar? Not because of how Tanya manipulates him (although it's cold on her part, it really does end up working out for the best for both of them), but of how Ugar is the first one in the story to really show the appropriate reaction to Tanya. Usually, her allies look at her and go "look at how smart and powerful and mature and disciplined she is, she's such a perfect soldier, she's an inspiration to us all!" Her enemies look at her and go, "SHE'S THE ANTICHRIST!"

Ugar looks at her, and says, "My God. This is an eleven year old child who is a two year, almost three year, veteran of the military. We have thrown her literally into the front lines of the trenches of WW1. We have asked her to kill people with her bare hands, and she's done it. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH US?!"

I love that so much. Wish we saw that reaction more.

I was just thinking that food looked really good, and then she started declaring how bad it is.
What a crying shame.

Tanya is such a hypocrite.

That meal would not pass inspection by the Health Department, FDA, or the USDA.
