That's certainly what the dialogue in this chapter is insinuating! The arc resolves in the next volume, so all will be revealed once I get on with that...

The series has heavily insinuated that Peregrinus was a god, so the children are all at the least demigods assuming Baribara is human; it appeared in the last arc that Hinyari's motivation for attacking the Land of Long Nights was to try and get Nemukunai to take his place as a god, and there's some drip feeding of possible other information about links between Peregrinus and Hinyari at the start of volume 5.
