I'm loving this one! Thanks for translating this and all the other Hino works you've done. And if you read this maybe you can help me out. Weird place to post it, but here goes...

I've started translating the Spanish scan of Historias de la Máscara the original title in Japanese is おどろんばあ and since I don't understand the language online translators translate it as Scary Grandmother, which I assume is in relation to the Hannya mask. Is that a relatively ok translation? Or is there a better way to name it?

Since the Spanish company only did volume 1 I do have a RAW of volume 2 if anyone is interested in translating it.

"どろん ばあ" i.e. "Doron Baa" is something Yokai yell to scare people when they appear, according to Japanese folklore. Its closest equivalent in English is probably "Boo!". The "お" at the beginning is a prefix indicating politeness/respect. Frankly, I have no idea how to translate "おどろんばあ" into English directly and I don't blame the Spanish translator for going with "Stories of the Mask" instead.

Thank you for the detailed info. I think perhaps when I'm ready to put them on here I'll stick with Stories of the Mask, as even the romanized name of the raw volume I downloaded years ago, sends me on a confusing google search (Odoriba)
