It seems to me like they're all just as much to blame for her acting out in her previous life as she is herself. If the brother had spoken up, if theo and his girl had sympathised with her, if anyone had acknowledged the child abuse and bias against the princess - but they didn't, and they probably all acted shocked when she acted out of turn.
