This bro really be fuming over a fictional story....also he's a martial artist. he could probably tell he wasn't breathing and shit seeing as the girl had to hit certain parts of his body and he used a special technique to pretend to be dead.
Wasn't like he just played possum.

It's also just fine storytelling either way if a main character is makes a mistake. More a matter of taste if one don't like it when characters make "stupid" decisions. There are plenty of power-fantasy stories with main characters that never fail if that is what one is looking for. Makes no sense to me how someone could spend their whole day reading 84 chapters of something that makes them angry.
