I have a feeling the mangaka has never left the city he/she were born in and is thus blissfully ignorant of what the countryside looks like. What we saw might be a lot for a single peasant of the old times, but that's it. Any free farmer and landowner would have had that much, let alone an estate, like in this case.

I saw the picture and was like:
"You could support maybe 50 people with that teeny field...?"

I mean, a town of 2000 would have fields for a "day's ride," and that's about 20-30 miles, so... based on perspective, he can see about 3 miles?

That's a damn small field.
