Almost forgot about they are past life friend. Author better not forget that themselves lol.
At this point it feel like the author forget that, The Whole point is both the "villainess" and the "heroine" is isekai, and plus they are already "good friend" in their past life. This combine both the type where heroine isekai as the villainess, and the heroine but into the villainess instead of the hero. There could be a lot of fun thing to mess around with this premier instead of just being close to the villaness/heroine instead of the hero like hundred of other villaness. When both party know each other, get along already past the "story plot point", and they both know about the world setting. how they combine their knowledge about the world to figure out what to deal with, it could start with "the villainess act different than the story, Could that be she also isekai ?" that what i expect from this.
But nope, this is make them act the role and eventually no different from like hundred of other Isekai villainess story. They are at the point they already shipable and they still not learn about each other yet

neither of them is the heroine. the heroine is the pink haired girl. one of them is the villainess and the other one is the maō.

The problem is, Kaye doesn't know the story of the novel because she is not interested with it. So only Mortimer knows... I just hoped that soon they'll realise the true identity of each other, and break the scenario together. At this point they thought they can return, but ultimately they cannot since the earthquake claimed their past lives.
