They changed this a lot from the translated WN.
Melody had read and knew the book by heart. Like a transgressor.
(The "what is going on!?" section is horribly out of place.)

Because that was written in the book she read in her past life!
Novel-Melody would have N-E-V-E-R opened the window like that, since it would scare Loretta!
I'm actually pretty mad the manhwa adaptation author bungled that.
Melody would (I can't stress this enough) never do anything to make Loretta uncomfortable.
She would run through fire and flames. That girl is her moral compass for living in this re-life.
And that has a big deal to do with how Loretta cozies up to her like a baby chick.
(For example, Melody covers Loretta's ears by herself, with her own hands -- running to her.)
I hope a bunch of the following interactions don't seem shallow, as a result.
