I'll be frank.
At this point, the author really should quickly just wrap up the popes downfall and be done with it.
The pope isn't an antagonist that the reader can take seriously, given that he is as much of a perpetual failure like sheria was, with none of the personal conflict, making him being such a failure not even fun.
Like, off him quickly and let the remainder of the story be the fluff, instead of wasting time on him.

So sick of these comics that turn into just capitalist wet dreams. She starts companies to make tons of money when the Mc says at the beginning they just want simple life. They tali about being good to people but then start black companies (oppressing the demons who've helped her at every turn and seen to actually like her, puppet heads of their businesses in other comics etc) what's with the obsession with exploitation

It's south korean. Probably just a reflection of the authors environment.

Tbh I was giving this development a benefit of doubt but nah, I agree with you, what irks me especially is that unnecessary bad treatment and exploitation of the demons

Certainly doesn't make it any better. I read comics to escape the capitalist hellscape we live in, not to glorify it. I'm not a ferengi lol
I also read one that pretty much had the antagonists be the elite that made sure to squash the potential of the young people and lower classes. That really felt like social commentary.
Title is: The Maxed-out Player by Bichoo & Nelpi
