I had just read a manhwa with a very annoying scene of "i chose to not communicate" and gone a bit mad because of it. But here i think its done well or reasonably. Dude choose to not communicate because of a legitimate reason which is the future her hating him to death. Although it should have been ok if the timing was right like him just revealing his sickness causes him to kill and need her help to find a cure at the little tea time. But emotionally, it makes sense that he would be hesitant.
