Selion is an insufferable brat of no manners, so I can't imagine how he would be suitable to act as a princess's aide and bodyguard in any universe. Claire's own reputation would suffer if a brute like that was hanging around her all the time. After all, a person will be judged by the company they keep. Furthermore, an employer's fame depends on how the emplyees act. So, if Selion needlessly offended random people, like he tends to do, all of them would blame Claire for it because it would be her job to keep Selion in check. However, nobody can keep that rude boy in check. Selion is good for nothing but the battlefield.
Selion feels like breeding result of alpha male and a tsundere, inheriting both parents insufferable traits.

I don't remember seeing this shota demon before, he's not in my notes. But I won't dispute the assertion at the end of this chapter, that he's there to allow Lloyd to show off the power of his new staff. It's like they're not even trying to hide it anymore and just pointing it out before the readers can. The upcoming conflict is just a means to test the new gear and the new villain is just a plot device who didn't even get introduced properly...

It would be nice if Claire could just assert her will and say both of them will guard her from now on. I don't get why there should only be one bodyguard; on paper, two bodyguards will always be better than one for security. From the perspective of a potential enemy plotting to abduct or assassinate the princess, it's certainly double the trouble if they had not one but two strong bodyguards to deal with.

Unless what they're really fighting over is a monopoly on spending time with her...

This manga has a ton of potential. The MC is interesting enough despite still being a bit too OP. The plot itself isn't exactly generic, but the presentation itself is what kind of ruins what could be something a lot more special. It's too... juvenile, and the art style has too much in common with the generic isekai/fantasy story.

I'm still enjoying it, and it will be getting adapted to anime soon. But the way I see it, this series is a giant missed opportunity.

I literally hate the trope “evil little boy he so extremely evil and supposed to be cute while saying heinous things with a smile on his face” I don’t think I have ever once liked this trope on any character, probably alone in this but it always just pisses me off, I really hope those characters get punched so hard in the face that their stupid little smile disappears like every time they show up. Anyway Back to reading
