This is so pretty and I love the period setting too, late 17th century isn't something you see covered at all.
I hope the mermaid can take the suffering from Rosie

Great to see more gl with an awesome style and cryptids, but I think there was use of AI in creating the artwork. It's gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but if you zoom in on a few select faces, there's a lot of weird, hair-like lines around people's eyes which look like unnecessary detail. Not to mention the oddly warped hands characters have in some panels. I love the style and get that it's abstract, but some elements appear wonky and misshaped - very tell-tale of AI generated works.

I'm little disheartened by the fact tbh. If anyone can provide a bit of insight on the artist, I'll rescind my statements. But honestly from what I've gathered, the author seems to have come from the blue with two polished comics (including this one) under their belt with little prior history and it's sending a couple red flags to me.

They posted art on twitter since 2017 https://x.com/Rrrrrrice0303/media?lang=en. There's plenty of instances of them showing their drawing process/sketching.

Personally I don't see any AI in the manhua anyways.

The creases of the clothes and the waves of the ocean are drawn like tapestries.
Full color, too. Wonderful stuff.
