This 1 day before the Cultural Festival, the preparation is completed, and everyone is hyping up for the next day. Miko was gathering everyone to go to the karaoke when she was told off by their teacher Yamashita. "Gathering before or after the Cultural Festival is strictly banned", he told the class, and hurried everybody home.



On their way home, Miko said that, Yamashita is a cry baby when he was just kid and she's frustrated that they couldn't go partying. For that she'll devour every food stalls in the Cultural Festival. Shiori picked that up and said Miko is a glutton and she'll become a tanuki if she eats too much. Right then, Hinako asked both of them to visit her house so they can pick up some vegetables her neighbor had given her. But after she'd realized they both don't have a house to bring the back to, she offered to cook then dinner with a smile on her face.



Seeing that smile, Miko thought to herself "If it was before, no matter how many time we talked, thing would just stay the same, sometimes, it even took a turn for the worse... But seeing Hinako as she is right now, I know for sure that, this time, it'll de different...". Miko, while feelling frustrated, acknowledged that it was thanked to Shiori that Hinako had now changed. While wanted to know, Miko couldn't bring herself to ask Shiori what they'd talked about.



Miko then looked to her right just to see Shiori lying on Hinako's bed(probably to sniff her scent) so she yelled Shiori to get off the bed while telling her to read the room. Shiori then got off the bed and then proceed to explore Hinako's room which pissed off Miko.



While looking around, a photo captured Shiori's gaze, it was Hinako's photo with her family. Shiori was planning to pick it up but was stopped by Miko. Shiori then looked at the photo and though: "So this is how a happy face looks like". "Is this Hinako's family" asked Shiori. She then countinued: "I honestly can't understand it. How can living together for at most a few years can make a person develops such affection for someone?"



After hearing that, Miko replied: "You know this better I do, don't you? It's not the amount of time spent together that matters. Shouldn't you be the one who knows this best?". Shiori immediately remembered the moment she'd spent with Hinako, "Maybe... That much pain is more than enough for me."



Right then, Hinako came upstair to tell them that she overestimated her pantry, now she don't have enough to cook for the three of them. Seeing that both her friends is standing, Hinako questioned them about that. "It was nothing" Miko and Shiori responded in unison.



Hinako then told them she will go to supermarket to buy the ingredients, which Miko quickly told her off. "You're going too, hurry up", Miko rushed Shiori. "Yeah..." Shiori answered while picking up them Yaotose's family photo. "Somedays, I hope I can become an important person(being) to you."

Like when Shiori explored the Hinako's room, I used the idiom that literally translates to "Like pouring water on a duck's head" which means "go in one ear and out the other" because duck feathers are waterproof so nothing will stick, which explains Miko's annoyance since she'd just told Shiori to be awared of her surroundings.

Or the part where Miko hurried Shiori to get ready to go with Hinako to the supermarket, the phrase I planned to used can literally translate to "be quick with your feet", which means hurry up, but since Shiori is a fish, I changed it into "be quick with your fins" :">
