Chessboxing was invented by legendary French comic book creator Enki Bilal in his Nikopol Trilogy, before breaking through to the physical world . The Nikopol Trilogy and The Hunting Party (with Pierre Christin) are immortal graphic novel classics, and he's also made lots of other interesting stories, always with absolute top tier art. Judo calligraphy would fit quite well in some of his stories.
