This is the end of the "Mad Group" story, yes. The plan was to do more stories set in the same post-apocalyptic world (hence the whole "Part 1" thing) but Shonen Gaho, the magazine where all these appeared, ceased publication in 1971 when it was merged with Shonen King due to declining sales.

Hino did a couple more "Tomorrow's Hell" stories much later in his career and I will translate at least one of them soon. It is included in a different collection, though.

As for this book, there are 3 more stories in it but they are completely unrelated to the world of "Tomorrow's Hell" and were likely only included to get the volume to a publishable length.

Glad you liked it! Much as I was impressed by the artwork, I couldn't help but wonder how this got published in a magazine for kids.

I was always under the impression that it was cancelled due to its more visceral depictions, but read an interview where it looks like a few things made him just drop the story line, from pressures from other upcoming jobs, editor's breathing down his neck, parental outrage and the death of one of Hino's idols,
Yukio Mishima. His suicide spiralled Hino into a depression and sever bouts of drinking. But really kids in the 70's were a different breed all together!!

Its kinda funny how horror manga for kids had no filters or limits until 2010 or something. Stuff like Ciao Horror specials from nowadays don't even come close to the gore in some manga published in regular ass Nakayoshi in the 80s.
