all good things must come to an end, and that certainly was one :haa:

i really enjoyed this series, shame people seemed to have it out for it right from the start. ive read far worse series that have lasted longer.

tbh this mangaka reminds me alot of mangaka for My Hero Academia. they struggled alot with their early works, getting cancelled often. i hope they can find their long running, beloved series too :meguuusad:

Kawaguchi can't "catch a break" because all he can do is draw muscle mommies and assorted sex designs. His stories are by the numbers meandering shonen shit and most of his fights are a confusing mess.
That sounds fine for a shonen series.

I really wanted to like this series, but it was pretty average
I REALLY liked Red Hood, and felt terrible for the author when it got axed a few years ago, so I was happy to see him get another shot, but this just did not do it for me, it was not terrible, just average...

I really like the authors art style though, I feel he would do very well doing the artwork for a stronger writer

this manga had great, great potential. If otr was a bit older and the first arcs were paced a bit more fluidly this may have survived

Shonen is an overcrowded genre and a series either stands out and draws a crowd or gets axed pretty quickly. Drawing muscle mommies does not a series make.

If his pairings had more chemistry, his stories were more interesting or his fights looked better I could see something of his last, but when other series do everything you do but better, it's usually bad news for your lifespan.

I can't say I'm surprised, personally. I liked some aspects of it, but it really did feel too much "by the numbers" despite its relatively unique setting. Like, the individual pieces were there and nominally set up but.... I don't know. Maybe it's not even the author, but the editorial direction.

It sounds like Otr would have done better if it came out 10-15 years back.

Kawaguchi deserves better than Shueisha and Jump. They don't foster the talents they have and work their successful authors into permanent burnout.

Understandable ending for this.
A shame it just ends like this : unceremoniously, rushed, lacking gravity, without heartful pathway.

It lacks something meaningful.
I'll sound harsh on this one, but it was a disappointing finale and disrespectful conclusion.
It does not honor those who followed this work year around, and feels like the author just gave up.

At least, let's cheer up that, this time, it didn't ended into the U19 club tho.

They really should pair the author with a solid scriptwriter.

I wish to see more muscle mommies in the future tho!
better than Shueisha and Jump.
For the best and the worst, they are still the ones carrying the industry.

Most of their titles are solid good, where competitors are struggling to pull out a solidly good work out there.

They should pair the author with a veteran for the scenario.
