I assume that was a thought bubble b/c you'd think someone would notice if he said that out loud"I wonder how many people will die" Sir what does that mean? Sir?
My initial thought was that the water causes the worms and the people of the village handle the worms better than the general public. But then I thought there have been visitors from outside of the village that have arrived and almost certainly drank some water before they left. So...perhaps that old man isn't the only one. Perhaps as meatball heads pop up more old men will eat them."I wonder how many people will die" Sir what does that mean? Sir?
Yeah the scientist duo are wearing headphones so they don't get affected by the 'signal'"Anyone can learn" I though he knew/isn't that why those two are both wearing those headphones?
honestly while i imagine a villager wouldn't suddenly 'attack' him or the female scientist i still half expected one of them to grab or 'accidentally' bump into him to get him to remove his headphones, b/c other than it also playing some tone that cancels it out i imagine it'd still have to be adjusted to the point where he could still hear others talking to him as opposed to a full hearing blockYeah the scientist duo are wearing headphones so they don't get affected by the 'signal'
"You really want to keep it hidden don't you? But did you know anyone can learn to see it? I know how to do it"
she's threatening him with the idea that she can make others immune to the signal and ruin their plan since he "looks surprised" that she's immune to it
Doubt she'll die, maybe get pushed into escaping somewhere till she comes up with a better plan.It feels like this is either nearing a conclusion or she's just gonna die soon.
16 chapters is pretty far in for a protagonist , if they were to do a “kill off and POV switch” they should’ve done so before chapter 8 imo but maybe if she does die it’ll be closer to the end and “cycle repeating again” depending on how much the author likes darker endings versus hopeful unless it’s more “cliche” for JP horror to end a certain way and they’d “play it safe” versus subvert expectations by somehow making that Tunnel monster a “good” force of existenceDoubt she'll die, maybe get pushed into escaping somewhere till she comes up with a better plan.
She may claim anyone can learn, but is that really the case? After all, she is working with very little information, and her previous persuasion attempts have achieved nothing. If she is not being just silly, then she might be trying to bait the guy in revealing more.
moral relativism maxxing"I wonder how many people will die" Sir what does that mean? Sir?
It could be an ending where it ends good for this protagonist, but the evil is not really defeated and resurfaces somewhere else, for some other protagonist to deal with in a potential sequel. I don't recall when was the last time I read about heroic protag sacrificing themselves in manga, they tend to live even through severe injuries to see the dawn of new, monster-free day.16 chapters is pretty far in for a protagonist , if they were to do a “kill off and POV switch” they should’ve done so before chapter 8 imo but maybe if she does die it’ll be closer to the end and “cycle repeating again” depending on how much the author likes darker endings versus hopeful unless it’s more “cliche” for JP horror to end a certain way and they’d “play it safe” versus subvert expectations by somehow making that Tunnel monster a “good” force of existence
LOL yeah i imagine there couldn't be a full on 'cure' or "This town is free from this" but it'll "cut to" another town with similar issues given how large japan is, if not a 'mad scientist' type recreating something similarIt could be an ending where it ends good for this protagonist, but the evil is not really defeated and resurfaces somewhere else, for some other protagonist to deal with in a potential sequel.
