Please don't become a love interest. Please don't become a love interest. Please don't make her fall for MC because he gives her the push to overcome her anxieties!!!
Sadly Romance Comedy somehow got infected by the "Harem" trope. And since new Manga must be derivate of something already popular and follow all tropes, it's impossible to break the loop at this point. There are rules now, "No perverted protagonists, herbivores only", "Second girl is introduced in Vol. 2", and most importantly "A Festival/Pageant/Play must happen, and take up 50% of the series."

I understand the herbivore snoozefest, but does anyone actually tolerate pervs as main characters?

I grew up with perverted protagonists, American Pie came out right when I hit puberty, and perverted MC's was a normal thing to see. The main character was assumed to be a horny teenage boy because that's the normal for a teenage boy, or it was.

They had to be likable of course, High School DxD is a great example of a bad Perverted Protagonist. That's crossing over into Rance and screw that, too mean. Likable like Ranma 1/2, Sanji, or Kazuma from Konosuba, I love Kazuma being a perverted scumbag, but he's still likable if not relatable.

Exactly. Most Perversion is just an excuse for fan service or unfunny creepy comedy.

Those kinds of protags work cause the story actually addresses it as a flaw rather than a cool little quirk the mc can get away with.

You made me realize how old I am...

Perv main WAS the standard 20 years ago (damn... the number shocks me when I really have to count and say it out loud)

They're still here and there every now and then, but you made me realize that, yeah, recent waves of romcom doesn't have that much horny, pervy main anymore and, like @Jackist said, it's mainly Herbivore and/or neutron-star dense MC. And its to the point that you see it as foreign idea that drive it home to me.

:fml:

She still doesn't see Kurokawa at all, huh.
Like, def closer than the shitty cultist classmates, but she too only projects an image to worship upon her and her feelings of guilt are based upon that.
Good thinking of the MC to not go along with it, she needs to get a reality check for her own sake that Kurokawa was worried about her overworking herself, not disappointed in her not passing
