I feel it's gonna be a bait & switch. We already know how much he cares about Seno, and that he's interested in a girl (should figure out who she is pretty quick). So it won't be any drama on his side, most probably Seno overthinking that they're "better for each other" for maybe a chapter or two until friend-kun knocks some sense into him.

I don't really think people should be worried about Takada. He's a real bro from what we've seen of him so far. If anything the author would set him up with Nekozane's friend based off Chapter 17.5
