Has low self-esteem, thinks the kid should fall in love with someone else, but knows the kid only got into movies because of her and is afraid he'll start to hate movies if he really hates her. As basically everyone knows, readers and in-universe characters alike, she's kind of a mess. They both still have some growing up to do.

How dare you be reasonable in your analysis?

Its also nice to see better written low self esteem characters too, shes not 1 dimensional in her personality.

I understand your analysis but.... it seems a little too round about.
Why not simply tell him she doesn't like him and to give up on her.

Did she just decide now she didn't want him to give up?

Because she actually likes him to some extent. When they first met she prolly used him to get closer to older brother but as they interacted she prolly gained feelings somewhat to MC but doesn't think she's good enough for him.

I don't think so. It feels more like she realized her actions could alienate herself from the rest of his family (one of whom she may be interested in), but even in this chapter, she is trying to push the MC toward another girl.

Plus I don't like you is a really harsh thing to say to someone
because it is 2023? you like, or don't like someone, simple.
