Grandmother no longer suspected as being cursed? What?

I don't know how long Shiva was Outside, but it had to have been awhile right? How long did they hold Grandmother?! Whyd they have a suspected cursed prisoner instead of just killing them, and if imprisoning them was a thing why did Shiva have to be left outside for the same issue?

Also WAAAA what was a civilian like you doing in the outside in the first place?!
