At this point the Momos are just implausibly evil. And each attempt to humanize them highlights this more and more. We've seen how Oni can get out of control, and that's certainly a problem, but at some point I just stop buying that Momos can exist as an organization with this much staff, when they treat what are still basically humans the way they do, don't even stop at their own kin, and where pretty much every single individual with a rank higher than "peon" is this irredeemable shitbag who openly flaunts how much of a cruel cunt he is.

I actually have been wondering for a while  why Momos get tragic backstories at all, even if you ignore the crazy ones they're all objectively unquestionably evil, since they're fine with literal genocide and human experiments, maybe it's the publisher pushing for it or something, because so far the only one maaaaybe redeemable is mc future husband, and he basically completely disappeared from the story.

Also, they’ve been so long at this arc that I wonder how long until the manga gets axed, cause it's worse than fucking Namek right now

Well... There's also the dude with the twisting powers... He basically got mentally fucked by his mom to the point of becoming soulless.

But yeah in general almost all momo higher-ups seem to be completely irredeemable monstrous shitbags.

Regarding the translation note on page 12 saying they didn't understand what he's saying when he said "I want to see the power of Enki"

Enki means fire, the specific element tied to Shiki's kishin status. Which might be why his power involves guns. He has litteral 'fire'power (also an immunity to fire)
