Really, why is there no 3rd faction in this whole momo vs oni debacle knowing that this kind of behaviour exists?? Although as far as I'm aware there's no bad treatment towards momooni children in oni side or I just forgot idk
someone please remind me if so

The Kikoku unit is kind of like a third faction? They are all Onis, but do not align with the views of the main Oni group. I guess a hybrid group of half-Oni/half-Momo faction would be pretty interesting to see. Kind of a shame that the hybrids don't have a combination of Momo and Oni powers. Would be quite something imo.

Because any Momo that went rogue will just get killed by other Momo. See Shiki's father. He went against the rules of the Momo and got hunted down. Momo with Oni's blood don't have any choice. The Oni treat all Oni equally without discrimination. The example is Kougasaki Jin. His father is a Momo but the Oni treat him well.

They really try to paint him like a saint, but I am still not buying it.
Also, I agree with people saying there should be another faction, no indoctrination is perfect, and even if they get hunted down so do the oni, they just need enough numbers and be organized to bail in mass.

This manga keeps doing this with the Momos. They will present you the most cruel, manipulative, bloodthirsty villain you've ever seen, but please understand his sad backstory. The writing is doing this dissonant split between wanting Momos to be these unrepentant Oni terminators who think of them as less than human and revel in their wholesale slaughter, even the women and the children, but they're also just human beans like us.
