I think the author is grieving and regretting having killed off Garcia, and is trying to write himself an exit

But we are stuck with Kiryu and Ryusei instead

I just want to see Kiichi fight don't care about Ryusei, Kiryu, Dr Tard etc or some lame dog with a cheesy backstory. Garcia was cool but he is dead so best to accept that and move on to a new arc.

So what was Kiryu's big plan again? He wanted Garcia's heart for himself except he actually wants it for his daughter so she can birth the ultimate warrior that will beat the Terminators but he gave it to Ryusei for reasons? Now he's too weak to do anything and needs Ryusei to keep winning (to earn his medicine) all while missing Garcia, who only died cause Kiryu told him to off himself and he did. Oh yeah, and doing all this will somehow save the martial arts world? God, this is why you don't buy Yujiro Hanma off of Temu.

Author should’ve just made Garcia the main character. It would’ve been so much more interesting watching a man created and raised to be a weapon of war, breaking free from the hold of the military and his father’s legacy. And truly learn what it means to be human, while carving out his own path in life. But no we get lame ass Ryusei, who got lucky and was given parts of Garcia(After Garcia literally beat his ass so bad he was literally dying). And Kiryu who became an old man slowly dying in a wheelchair. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
