I like the idea of somewhat limiting Vegeta's abilities by making his god ki a potential threat to his survival due to Gensokyo's laws being completely different. He's still leagues above everyone, but that's an interesting thing to bring up, because they could've just not taken Super into account in this story, but nope, pepper in some extra lore as a treat.

I suppose Vegeta here is kind of like the legendary saiyan Yamoshi? Instead of allowing saiyans to get ssg, Vegeta instead allows gensokyo residents to go past their potential up to the most recent form he's used through ki schenanigans. It'd explain why Marisa got ahold of basic ki and why Momiji got such an upscale, his perception of the girls might actually be nudging their strength in that direction. Afterall, Vegeta kind of eclipses the gensokyo residents in terms of powerscaling, a lot of these fights just wouldnt happen without something fundamentally changing gensokyo to begin with.
