I liked the story. I agree with darkmaster006 that the "we can't date since I want to have kids" thing was a little bit contrived, but I'll defend it somewhat. Japan is not progressive in regards to LGBT, and the government prevents gay adoption, as well as barring lesbian couples from doing things like in vitro fertilization. It doesn't prevent lesbian couples from getting pregnant completely, as you can still go to another country and receive in vitro. But then you are considered a single parent legally, and your partner won't have legal guardianship of their child. Point is although it is possible to be gay parents in Japan, its a huge pain in the ass relative to other countries with less shitty rules in regards to LGBT.
