Izumi now practically knows they're inhuman somehow.
Having eavesdropped Haruto and Director Mitsuba, he gained a lot of insight from their conversation.
He's unclear of the details, but he now realizes that Ichika is extremely important to them as a test subject, and that Haruta is as worried about her as he is about Izumi. As well as how they're not exactly human based on Mitsuba explaining his reasoning for touching Ichika which is what his reaction was. "She seems like just a regular human being." is what he thought.
The paranoid worrywart Haruta is reassured, and is the one to carry Ichika to her apartment, as to seem unsuspicious of Mitsuba driving her home when she fell asleep before she could give him directions.
Meanwhile, before Mitsuba leaves, he checks on his gps tracker as to where Izumi is, and finds out he's near and overheard them, but he decides to let Izumi decide whether he wants to stay ignorant or pursue the truth.
As for Izumi, he's seemingly about to test his abnormal his body is with a knife after he returns home.
I wonder if Ichika herself overheard while she was sleeping. Maybe she awoke.
Unless that bizarre inability to easily wake up from exhaustion is a "bug" from the mechanical cells.
