I think this girl is his mom, I mean I can’t think of many dead people who are that powerful in this series (ignoring kukuri, but she’s shown a different type of strength)

This was their own damn fault. Shirane warned them to run, but Kazuya and the girls had to play hero, not knowing what they were up against. They did have to introduce Taunade though.
